Here is what most MLMer’s are notorious for. They work really hard in the fall and Christmas season. They are so exhausted by Christmas time that they take January and February off and do almost nothing. By March they are starting to get back into it again and by May are starting to see some results. Then June hits and ‘Oh well’ it’s summer and I have too many other things I want to do like going to the beach and vacation and then nothing gets done. By the end of the summer they need money because their business has dropped off and they start the cycle all over again.
Wouldn’t be great if you just continually grew your business over the whole year and then just take several wonderful vacations throughout the year?
There is also the misconception that no one joins a MLM company in the summer so why bother even trying. If that were true then most companies would go out of business. Summer can be a slower time (because almost no one is recruiting), but that doesn’t mean that it is impossible to recruit someone. I do some of my best recruiting in the summer because people are more relaxed and less rushed.
Here is another thing to think about. Loss of momentum. If you truly want to build a business that is going to support you financially then you need to create momentum so that you move up levels. Stopping and starting your business over and over again causes you to…
1. Never get to the point where you hit momentum and make real money.
2. Every time you do it you actually get farther behind and it takes longer to just get to the point where you were when you stopped.
So what can you do? I know that you want to enjoy your summer. Who doesn’t? But did you realize that you can easily incorporate your business into your summer activities and that in many ways it is easier because you are around so many people?
When you got to the parks and beaches and stores, just make a point of talking to a couple of people about your business. That’s it. If you do you will have recruits throughout the whole summer and you will start off your fall way ahead.
I am a numbers person and love to see the results of things numerically. So think about this.
Say in June, July and August you talk to 2 people a day and recruit 6 people over the summer and let’s say that you earn $20/month from each person. Between September and December you will earn almost $500 from those six people alone. Wouldn’t an extra $500 at Christmas time be nice and that is only if those six people don’t recruit anyone. What if 3 of them just recruited 1 person? That is now 9 people and $700 extra dollars in your pocket by December.
You don’t have to make it difficult, you just have to be consistent. Take the opportunities that come along and just TALK TO PEOPLE and see the results. You will be glad you did.
“Kim, that’s great but I don’t know what to say to people.” I understand. I was the same way for a very long time.
Well I have good news for you. I am working on a project and it will be released in the next couple of weeks that is going to teach you step by step how to recruit people including what to say. So watch out for it.

To a spring and summer filled with consistency, momentum, results and success,

Here is one of the things that I have learned in my journey to success. Energy suckers are everywhere and if you aren’t on your guard they will sap you of everything and leave you in the dust exhausted and emotionally unable to do anything but be frustrated.
What are energy suckers?
Well they come in different categories such as internal ones like…
Procrastination
Did you know it takes more energy out of you to fight yourself over what you should be doing then actually doing it?
Have you ever had a child fight with you over doing a chore and they end up spending double the time arguing with you over doing then it would have taken if they just do it in the first place.
You can fight yourself all day and keep reminding yourself that you need to make those phone calls and feel guilty and beat yourself up because you aren’t doing them OR..
You can get on the phone for 15 minutes make those customer and recruit phone calls, move your business forward and enjoy the rest of your day.
Double Mindedness
This one is very dangerous because you actually think that you are doing the right thing by not making a decision too quickly, but the truth is all it does is lock you in a cycle of self doubt and perfectionism where you never move forward because you never make a decision.
Did you know that making mistakes is a part of the learning and growing process in our business?
It is not a sign of failure, but of your true strength. To be able to make a decision and then accept responsibility for that decision positions you for success.
Successful people make lots of mistakes, they just never let a mistake stop them from reaching their goal.
They recognize the mistake, learn from it and then keep going towards their goals.
Not making decisions leaves you drained, emotionally and physically exhausted and sitting on a fence that you can’t seem to get off of watching others succeed and you don’t know why.
It is time to change that. If this is you, then start by making small decisions on a regular basis and over time you will be able to make the big decisions with ease.
Then there is the external category and that involves the people around you.
Family, Friends and Team Members
Do you have family, friends or team members who require a lot of time and energy, but don’t give anything in return?
Now I am not talking about your young children or very elderly parents. They cannot take care of themselves and do require our love, attention and support and they are one of the best investments we can make in this life.
What I am talking about are those people who should be able to take care of themselves, who are more than capable of dealing with life’s situations but are determined that everything has to be about them and their life.
You know the ones that are always creating drama and require your attention immediately, but when you need them, they can’t even lift a finger to help you.
Here is how you deal with them. You slowly but surely move yourself away from them. Don’t answer their texts, phone calls, emails or Facebook messages right away.
When you do talk to them start saying no to their requests, but give them ideas on what they can do to resolve the situation themselves.
Overtime when they realize that they can’t manipulate any more they will move on to someone else who will fall for it.
The truth is by giving in to it you are helping them. Sometimes the best thing you can do for them is to let them fall and figure it out for themselves.
You have the choice in your life and business to be caught in these things or to grow as a person and learn the things you need to become successful.
Is it always easy? No
Is it worth it when you have reached your goals and reaping the rewards of success?
Most definitely YES.

I wish I could tell you that achieving success in MLM requires no effort, no work and that money just falls into your lap.
But I can’t…
You have invested in a business and like any other business you have actions that you need to take if you are going to produce sales and recruits.
And if you want big results there is going to have to be a lot of continuous action. There is no other way to do it.
I have people email me and ask me to help them and when I look at there situation I realize that there is little to no regular action being taken in their business.
If you are going to succeed you must create good MLM habits that over a period of time create results and then you results are multiplied when you hit momentum and then things really take off, but first you must pay the price of consistent action.
Sounds exciting doesn’t it?
Well yes and no…
When you start to see some really great results then yes it is exciting, but when you are sitting at home looking at the phone knowing that you need to make that phone call to the customer/recruit lead you just got and you would rather be doing anything else but like watching TV or playing games on Facebook, well it is not so exciting then.
That is why creating habits in your business are important. Once you got into the habit of doing something it makes it easy to continue doing it and seeing results.
So how do you create good MLM habits?
Let’s take a look at follow up calls for sales and recruits since that is an important action to take and one that most people want to avoid.
First of all when creating a habit you need to take small steps first. Set a small daily block of time 10 -15 minutes to start where you are going to do your phone calls. I find evenings is one the best times to make these calls.
So during the day get everything together that you are going to need to make the phone calls including your customer/lead list, a pen, you calendar.
If you would like a great customer tracking sheet that you can use to keep track of sales calls and products purchased then go to the bottom of this post and you can download it there.
Then before you sit down to make the calls get rid of all distractions including the TV, Facebook and your cell phone. Turn them OFF so that you can focus on the task at hand.
Set a timer for 10 – 15 minutes NO LONGER. The point is to do it long enough to start seeing results, but not too long that you get bored or tired or you choose not to do it because it is going to take too long.
Sit down, look at the first name on your list pick up the phone and dial it.
Yes, I am being silly here, but so many people will sit do and not do it. The best thing you can do is quickly get that first phone call done, it makes it easier to make the second and the third call.
Make phone calls until the timer goes off then you are done and can go do something that you want.
When you have done this 5 days in a row give yourself a reward.
Now just imagine when you add a daily prospecting habit to this. You will have a thriving business in no time flat.
So make the decision today that you are going to create good MLM habits.

It makes me sad to see so many people fail in MLM. They join in hopes of having a better life then fail, mostly because of the reason I am going to give you below. Can I be honest with you? I WAS one of those people who failed several times before achieving success, and I could check mark just about every reason below for it.
1) Lack of Training/No Self Growth.
If you are unteachable or aren’t willing to invest in your self growth you will fail. The other end of the pendulum is desperately wanting training but not having any available. In that case you need to go outside of your company to do it.
2) No Goals Set. As the famous saying goes, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”
3) Trying Any & Every Program and never committing to any of them. It takes times to build a business, and you just can’t quit and try something new because it didn’t work the first few times your tried it. Get someone to help you who knows what they are doing. Have them watch you and give you suggestions.
4) Procrastination. Need I say anymore? Get off the couch and take action. Record your favourite show and watch it when you are successful and can afford to take the time.
5) Non-Consistent Action. Only doing your business when it is convenient or doing it every now and then will not bring you success. You must have actions planned every business to make your home based business grow.
6) Fear. The only thing I can say about this one is that you have a choice. Your fear or success. You can’t have both. You might feel like your heart is going to pound right out of your chest the first time you go to talk to a stranger about your opportunity, (mine did), but when you get your 1st, then your 10th, then your 50th recruit, you will be so glad that you did.
7) Lack of Leadership. This is the one I can relate to the most. I spent years looking for someone to lead/mentor me. I am so thankful that I did 5 years ago, it made all the difference. If your leader isn’t helping you then find someone who will, and learn from them. If you don’t have someone who is willing to help you. Would you consider me? I can’t do everything that a leader does for you, but I would sure love to answer any questions if I can and to congratulate and applaud you on a job well done.

If you find yourself in any of these situations, have HOPE. You can change them starting today and put yourself on the road to a better place.
Why don’t you come on over to my Facebook page and share a success with me.

I so-oo-oo believe in you and your dreams,

You are all excited about the prospect of joining a MLM company and having your own home based business. This is your time to shine and create the future you want for yourself and your family. With very little thought or consideration you join the first company that catches your fancy with their amazing website or by someone who says all the right things.
Less than one moth later you have realized that you have made a huge mistake that has not only cost you money and time, but has destroyed your hope that you can have a better future. Or maybe…
It hasn’t destroyed your hope completely but it has set you on a path of hope and despair as you go from company to company trying to find the right one and ultimately you quit because you just can’t keep doing it anymore.
You keep on wondering if maybe you are just not cut out to be an entrepreneur and yet something keeps burning in your heart that there must be more.
Have you ever considered that you were made to be an entrepreneur and for success, but maybe your focus is in the wrong place?
Maybe choosing a company in MLM isn’t about a flashy website and having the newest and the greatest shiny object that is the next biggest fad that everyone can sell but you. Maybe choosing the right company has nothing to do with the right products or compensation plan, maybe it has to do with being under the right leader who can mentor you to success.
I spent 12 years going from company to company and each time it was the same. I would join and the person who recruited me would promise me all they help and support I needed and the first time I asked them to teach me how to recruit, all I got was, “Talk to people,” as if that is some magic formula that makes 100’s of people join your team.
I attended all the company trainings hoping I would get the training I was looking for (and I usually had to travel at my expense to do it, even though I wasn’t making any money,) and at most I got a motivational speech and testimonials from people who had done it, but nothing practical to help me.
Because I wasn’t a natural born recruiter and I needed a lot of help, most leaders soon grew tired of me and ignored me completely, leaving me on my own to figure it out. It always left me feeling unworthy, discouraged and hopeless.
BUT…
There was this entrepreneurial spirit in me that couldn’t be quenched and I knew that if I could find someone to mentor me and teach me the skills I needed I would succeed and that is what happened 8 years ago. I was blessed to join a company where I was mentored and taught everything I needed to become successful and now it is my turn to give back.
Having a good leader is one of the main things you need to know to make the right decision about which company to work for, but did you know that there are also 9 other important contributing factors?
That’s why I am doing a very special webinar where I will show you the 10 Things You Absolutely Must Know Before Joining A MLM Company. If someone is saved from 12 years of hurt and struggle because of this training, then that will mean a lot to me, like I have accomplished something.

I was reading a great blog post and it quoted Jim Rohn and he had said, “Succeeding is easier than making excuses.” And it really got me thinking about how much excuses have cost me in my life.
You see, the more excuses I made the more it damaged my self confidence and the more my self confidence was damaged the more I was unmotivated to do anything and then the more that happened the more afraid I became to even try something which lead to more excuses.
It was a vicious circle which left me defeated and on a road where none of my dreams came true.
When I choose to stop making excuses as to why I couldn’t do something and started to look for solutions, guess what happened. I found them and when I took action it opened up more doors and things became easier and then when it was time to move to the next level instead of making excuses because it became more difficult, I looked for solutions which allowed me to grow even more.
As this happened my self confidence grew and I was able to achieve more and more success, and even though I haven’t reached every goal yet, I am so much further down the road then I ever thought that I could get to.
So today you have a choice. Success or excuses?
Now before you think that this was all easy. It wasn’t. There were times that it was frustrating looking for solutions because it took longer than I though. There were times that I had to give up things to grow into the person I needed to be for the level I was at.
But…
It was worth it. Success is always worth the cost that you pay for it. The freedom that you attain and the ability to have control over your life makes the things that you give up seem petty once you get there.
Is it worth it? Most definitely?
So make the choice today.

Kim Thompson-Pinder
