“If you want something you’ve never had, then you’ve got to do something you’ve never done.”

            Thomas Jefferson

When I started with my current company 8 1/2 years ago, I never knew how much I was going to have to change to become a person who succeeds. I also didn’t realize how strong I would end up being on the inside, and how things I thought impossible then, now happen on a regular basis. It has been a journey of discovering who I was in God and how to get rid of all the things that were holding me back. I know one thing for sure. I couldn’t have done it alone. The Lord wonderfully supplied people to help me at each stage.

I really love that quote above by Thomas Jefferson, but I think that something needs to be added to it. It should go something like this:

“If you want to achieve something you’ve never done before, then you need to become someone you’ve never been and do things you’ve never thought possible.”

                        Kim’s version

SUCCESS IS AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE. The sad thing is most people won’t DO what it takes to get there. Unless you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth and groomed to succeed from the time you were born, you are going to have to do it the way most of us have, by working as hard on yourself as you do on your business.

So what things did I have to work on?

Belief

For a long time I didn’t really believe that I could succeed. I always thought that you needed to be someone special, you know the typical popular type, who won all the time and everything came easy to them. One thing I knew for sure was that I wasn’t one of them. I had to come to realize that my perceptions had nothing to do with who could succeed and who couldn’t. Being successful has nothing to do with how you look or who people think you are. It has everything to do with who YOU believe you are and once I started to believe I could be successful, I saw some results which built my belief even more.

Procrastination

This one was a hard one for me and there are still days where I really have to fight it. For me procrastination was an easy way of quitting with an excuse. There were always so many reasons why I couldn’t and they all seemed good ones at the time, but really all they were, were my justifying the fact that I didn’t believe it could happen for me, so I gave myself a way out. Which leads to……….

Plain Old Hard Work Tweet This

One thing I have learned about achieving success is that it isn’t all glamorous; most of it is hard work and self discipline. (There are still days that those words make me shudder.) Am I going to watch TV or get on the phone and make those calls? Am I going to sit at home and design yet another flyer or am I going to get out and talk to people?

The best way I overcame procrastination was to take a lot of continuous action and then see the results, and when I saw the results it made me want to take more continuous action. I wish I could say that self discipline is my best friend, but I can tell you that we are getting closer everyday.

Not Quitting

I spent most of my life being average. I would do enough to put me in the middle, but when it got hard or obstacles got in my way, I would quit. I wasn’t the best, but it was a lot easier that way. The thing was that I longed on the inside to be successful and at the top. I didn’t understand how other people got there. Again, I thought that they must be special and I wasn’t. What I didn’t know then, but do know, is that they aren’t any more special than I am, it just that they were willing to keep on going even when it was hard and uncomfortable, and that obstacles could never truly stop them unless they allowed them to. There is always a way around, through, under or over any obstacle and it those who don’t quit that win.

So my question to you today is this, “Are you going to do whatever it takes to succeed, or are you going to sit in unbelief, watching TV, wishing you were that special person?”

I know, it’s a in your face question and it might sting, but facing reality is the first step to achieving all your goals and dreams.

To your success,

Love Ya,

Kim Thompson-Pinder

I dare you to get a new recruit today. You heard me correctly, I dare ya.

Now when you heard those words you probably had one of two reactions. You either wanted to rise to the challenge or you already felt defeated. If I can be honest and share something with you, for many years I would have been the second one.

No matter what the prize or how much I wanted to, I couldn’t even recruit my way out of a paper bag. Thankfully, that has changed and now I could recruit someone today!

So the point of today’s blog is not to make you feel defeated and if that it is then please keep on reading because I have some good news for you. I am going to show you how to get leads to work on TODAY to get recruits for your business.

Getting someone interested is the first step to recruiting them and that is EASY TO DO!
I am going to give you an easy to use, versatile script that you can adapt to most any situation and then some ways you can use it today, plus some other ideas.
Are you ready? Here we go.

Give them an honest compliment then say, “Have you ever thought about doing (insert your company name) you would be great at it?”

It is so easy that many people miss the power in that question. It is so easy that most people don’t believe that it works and will never try it, but I have used this statement to recruit at least a hundred people or more over the years. So the choice is yours.

Now here are some ways that you can use it. Tweet This
1. Talk to the person serving you in the drive thru line.
2. Talk to the cashier in the store you will be in.
3. Talk to the Mom in the park watching her kids play.
4. Say it to one of your co workers
5. Call a friend and say it to them.

Here are some other things you can do to get leads to work on to recruit onto your team.
1. Leave your catalogue or brochure with one of your company’s recruiting flyers at a few people’s doors
2. Read your catalogue or brochure while standing in line at the store so people can see what company it is. This works best if your company is a household name.
3. When you are at the coffee shop or restaurant, put your catalogue or brochure on the edge of the table where people can see it when they walk by. Again this works best if your company is a house hold name.
4. If you are driving on a small non busy street and you see someone walking on the sidewalk, pull over and ask them for help. They will assume that you are asking for directions and come over. You can then introduce yourself with you company name and say, “I am going around the neighbour looking for people who need to make some extra money and I was wondering if you knew anyone?” This works best when it is woman to woman or man to man for obvious reasons.

If you do these things on a regular basis you will get people who are interested in hearing more about and form those you will get recruits and isn’t that what you want?

So even if you have never recruited a single person I dare ya to try these things today. Will you get a recruit today? I can guarantee that, but I can tell you that if you keep on doing it you will get recruits on you team. It I just a matter of talking to enough people.

So what are you waiting for, get to it. You have the rest of today to work on this.
I would love to hear your results. Come on over to my Facebook page and under the post for this blog post please leave a comment.

Have a great successful day,
Kim Thompson-Pinder

Check out this great guest post from my BFF Juanita Wootton-Radko.

Being an entrepreneur is fun! Exciting! Profitable! Except… when it isn’t. Every entrepreneur goes through periods where setbacks and struggles are far more common than the fun, profit and excitement. So what’s the secret to staying (or getting back) on track? Invest in your most valuable product: you!

1. Start with better habits.

“We are what we repeatedly do.”  Aristotle

Building healthy habits will give you the energy and strength for the down days. You already know that you should go to bed rather than stay up past eleven playing Candy Crush. A water bottle is a better choice than that third (or was it the fourth?) can of diet cola. Don’t sweat the occasional lapse- but aim for small goals like drinking water and catching all the shut-eye you need really helps you to bounce back.

2. Mistakes are part of the process.

“Do not judge me by my success, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.”                                                                                                                                                           -Nelson Mandela

When I was a child, I would often help my grandmother by washing dishes. One time, a fancy dessert plate slipped from my hands and smashed on the floor. I began to cry, certain that I would be punished. ‘Don’t cry,” she said.” There’s precious few that get worn out.” Those calm words put the broken plate in perspective and encouraged me to do a better job. You will make mistakes, but they don’t have the power to stop you. You can do it!

3. Stay focused on what really matters.

“Don’t count the days, make the days count.” Muhammad Ali

Keep a list of your priorities for your business. What are the key points for you to be a success? Is it building your client base? Reaching a weekly sales target? Define the “keys” for your business and aim for actions that get you closer to your goal.

4. Don’t give up.Tweet This

“If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” Martin Luther King Jr

Don’t give up. Being an entrepreneur can be lonely work. Take a walk around the block, or call a friend in your network who understands but won’t drag you down into a pity party.

5.Watch what you think, as well as what you say

“For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.” Walter Scott

I have a friend who says that he never has bad days. He has good days, great days and “character-building” days. A bad day is something that happens to you, but you get to choose what you get out of a character-building day. It may seem hokey, but word choice matters. Your word choice can portray you as the victim of a cruel and capricious world, or propel you as the hero of the great story that is your life. Be your own hero—we know you can!

Remember, everyone has ‘character-building days’– even entrepreneurs. Don’t let the struggles and setbacks pull your focus from your dream. Keep building your good habits, including the way you talk about your business. Don’t quit! Keep moving forward and soon once again, you will find yourself back on track to fun, excitement and profit.

In my last blog post we talked about creating momentum in your business and what that means. We also looked at an example that shows how to build momentum with your recruiting and team building. Lots of people enjoyed the article, but I had a request from one of my faithful readers (thanks Daga) to show how that works in the sales side of the business. So today, here is part two.

So just for a quick review, here is one of the definitions that Webster’s Dictionary uses for momentum:

“The strength or force that allows something to continue or to grow stronger or faster as time passes.”

So how does that apply to your sales business? For me it applies two ways. The first is to get more customers and the second is to sell more to the customers that you already have.

So Let’s Take A Look At How To Build Momentum And Have Your Customers Get Customers For You.

Like everything else you need to start the process and do a lot of work ahead of time. If you are an awesome rep for your company and you provide great service it is easy to get your customers to promote you. I am not sure what the average numbers would be, but let’s say that 1 in 10 of your customers will bring you in five customers a year. So that’s 15 customers for every ten customers you get yourself.

So if you are doing the right actions and out there prospecting and adding new customers and then taking care of them, if you ask your customers for referrals or to share your materials around to get more business, THEY WILL DO IT. I can tell you it works because 25% of my customer base has come from referrals from my customers.

I have gotten phone calls from people who got my book from a friend or family member who wanted to order products. I have customers ask me to drop off a brochure to a friend because they had talked to their friend and they wanted to order. All because I let them know that I could use the business.

 And then…

I rewarded them for getting me that customer and guess what? They would get me other customers because they liked how I thanked them.

Now How Do You Get Them To Buy More? Tweet This

Getting your customers to buy more is actually an easy process, but it is something that few people do because they don’t want to be seen as pushy and that is ask for it.

First of all, if you have a great relationship with your customers and you provide great service to them, they will trust you to make recommendations on products that you think they will like.

Over the years I have had customers thank me for recommending products because they were thinking about trying it but wasn’t sure about it and by me telling them about it, they tried it and liked it. The ones that they didn’t like, I gave them their money back no questions asked.

The best way to build momentum in your sales is to be selling consumable products that people use and come back for again and again. So the more products you get them on the more your sales increase exponentially because they will be ordering it several times a year.

 For example:

 1 Customer x One $25 product x Purchased 3 Times A Year = $75 In Sales Per Year

 1 Customer x Four $25 products x Purchased 3 Times A Year = $300 In Sales Per Year

 1 Customer x Ten $25 product x Purchased 3 Times A Year = $750 In Sales Per Year

Here is the point. The more products you can get one customer on the less work that there is for you and the more that customer will be contacting you for their favourite products instead of you contacting them. Now just imagine what happens to your sales when you have 10, 20 or 50 customers purchasing 10 products each, three times a year. If you had 50 customers doing that you would have $37 500 in sales for the year.

If your company does not have consumable products and you live in Canada and you are ready to switch then consider working with me and my company of over a thousand different consumable products for all members of the family. Click here to learn more.

Using Technology To Streamline The Process

Now as you are doing this you will hit the point where there are two many customers and too much WORK to do to maintain them. That is where technology comes in. With today’s advanced in technology it makes it easier then ever to be able to promote your business to many people at the same time. For example:

– Create an email list with all your customers (with their permission of course) and email them reminders of when it is time to order and specials that are available. There are also some group texting apps out there where you do the same thing and send it to their phone.

– If your company has E-Brochures use them as much as possible to not only cut down on delivery times, but costs as well.

– If your company does it, have your orders shipped directly to the customers that live a little farther away saving you a lot of driving time.

– Use social media to promote your business and get customers instead of having to go out and find them. You can also use social media to promote specials you have going on and create some buzz about it.

As you gain momentum it is always better to work smarter, not harder. What is the use of all this momentum if you are burnt out and never see your family? There are ways to sell more with the same amount of work, you just have to be creative and find them.

When you combine both getting new customers and selling more to the customers that you already have you will have an awesome business where you are leveraging not only your own efforts but the efforts of others as well and that is a sweet place to be.

 To Your Success,

Kim Thompson-Pinder

P.S. If you find these training helpful and want to share them with others, please feel free.

If momentum were a real person he would be the one that everyone wants to meet and get to know. In fact he would be the most popular person in the room. That’s because when momentum becomes a part of your business you are in for wild ride as your business gets shot forward at a very fast speed.

In Webster’s Dictionary one of the definitions of momentum is,

“The strength or force that allows something to continue or to grow stronger or faster as time passes.”

Just think about that for a minute, let it sink in. How would you like your business to be growing stringer and faster every single day and most of it NOT DONE BY YOU. That is what happens when momentum is your friend.

Momentum happens when you leverage the power of many people versus just one. Let me give you an example…

Let’s say that you are continually prospecting and talking to 3 people a day, 5 days a week and you are getting 1 recruit a week for the entire year and two of those people become leaders who build a steady business too. And say you did that for three years, here is what it would look like.

Year One

52 Team Members & 2 Leaders

Year Two

156 Team Members & 6 Leaders

Year Three

470 Team Members & 14 Leaders

And over those three years you would have only recruited 156 of them.

Now start to imagine what will happen when you hit the five year mark and then the 10 year mark. It would be explosive. You would be able to live comfortably for a very long time on what you would make from those people. Unfortunately, I can’t give you totals beyond three years because my piece of paper wasn’t big enough to figure it all out! I wish I was a mathematician at times so I could create a formula for it LOL.

So how do you become best friends with momentum and get him to help you in your business? By becoming best friends with his two best friends Action and Consistency and they can be very hard to get to know.

Action is always going and moving and doing something. He doesn’t sit around for nothing and if you aren’t moving with him you will be left behind.

Consistency, well she is the quiet shy one whom you have to prove yourself to over the course of time. She will watch what you do with Action first and see if you are worthy of her friendship, but once you have it, she will introduce you to her friend Momentum and that is when the party starts.

It all starts with action. Are you doing the actions required to build your business? Are you getting your name out there as the go to person for your company? Are you prospecting both locally and online? And are you doing it on a consistent basis so that your business is growing all the time?

In the beginning it ALL RELIES ON YOU. Nobody is going to do it for you. If you are willing to pay the price by yourself at first, you will reap the harvest of many later.

So on Monday, I shared an opportunity for you to get your name in front of thousands of people a year for pennies a person and some of you have taken me up on it.

Well I just want to let you know that there are a few spots left, but I will be closing it tomorrow night at 8pm, so I can finish revamping the book and get it posted on Amazon next week and starting to get people seeing those who have advertised.

What are you waiting for? Taking action is the only way to succeed and this is an awesome opportunity. For $50 US thousands of people are to see you as the go to person to get information about your company. Wouldn’t it be great to have people contact YOU about joining your business? Click here to check out the available packages and to order the one that works best for you.

In the first post we talk about setting goals and I just wanted to add two more things to that. When you are setting your goals always set them just beyond what you believe in your heart you can do. If you want to become really successful you are going to have to grow in not only your skills but your ability to conquer new things.

By making your goals just beyond your reach you are going to have to stretch yourself to do reach them and when you do that you will find the next level of success is closer then what you think.

The other thing is that you can use the same formula to figure out how many customers that you need to reach sales goal as well, so this is not just for building a team.

The One Action You Absolutely Need

There is one thing that is absolutely vital to your business and it is the thing that most people just won’t do. It is the key difference between the successful and the unsuccessful and that is…

PROSPECTING

Now were expecting some sort of magical, mystical thing or an extraordinary quality that only a ‘select few’ has that allows you to make excuses as to why you are not succeeding?

The reality is if you want to build a business and reap the financial success and recognition that you want you are going to have to put in the sweat hours of continually prospecting.

Some people think that certain people are ‘lucky’ and that is why they succeed, but I love Seneca’s definition that…

“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”Tweet This

PROSPECTING IS THE ONE MANDATORY ACTION YOU NEED FOR YOUR BUSINESS!!!

And I can’t stress that enough. Here’s the thing. Nobody I know wakes up in the morning and goes, “Yeah, I have to go prospecting today.” In fact it is something that most people dread and that is because they don’t realize that prospecting is the key to success and something they should be excited about.

I think one of the things that stop people from prospecting is the fact that they haven’t found a way of doing that they like. I find that most people tend to have one or two ways that they really do well in, but if they haven’t figured out which ones they like best then they get frustrated and bored with recruiting and quit.

So the two mains to prospect is offline (locally) and online and you need to figure out which one works best for you. You can’t go by what others tell you is the best way and there will be times where you are going to have to do it differently from your leader and that is ok. The main thing is to find the one that works for you and then do it on a consistent basis to achieve results.

If you are looking to learn how to generate leads online there is no better training than MLSP. Not only do they give you all the training that you need, but also all the tools you need as well to succeed online. They will help you set up your website and also show you the best ways to use social media to build your business and the great thing is that they have a $10 Risk Free 10 Day Test Drive. You will have full access to everything to see if this works for you.

If you are more interested in offline local prospecting then check out my MLM Success 101 course for $19. There are ten videos that will show you everything you need to be able to go out and recruit someone this week.

Once you have found what works for you then just do it over and over and you will see results. Tweet This

Make a commitment to yourself that in 2016 you are going to do the actions needed to ensure your success. You will be so glad that you did.

I love this time of year when we celebrate the birthdays of two great countries Canada and the US.
Wednesday was a great day as I celebrated Canada Day and now tomorrow all my American friends get to celebrate Independence Day and I really hope that it is a good one for all of you.

So in today’s training I am going to go over one of the 7 Prospecting Secrets I shared on Monday night’s webinar for those of you that missed it.
Something that is rarely talked about in our industry is what to say to get people to look at your presentation.

Most people don’t have a problem starting a conversation with someone or maybe even mentioning their business, but what do you say to get them to the point where they want to be a part of your company?
That is where the 30 Second Commercial comes in. So watch this clip to learn more about how to use a 30 Second Commercial in your business.

The full replay is still available at https://kimthompsonpinder.clickfunnels.com/auto-webinar-registration but I am only keeping it up until Thursday noon next week so you really want to take advantage of watching it this weekend.

Do you spend a lot of time chasing after people who really don’t want to be a part of your business and feel frustrated because of it?

Were you taught that everyone needs your business and that you can change everyone’s lives? That it is your job to convince them?

What about quantity is better than quality?

How about recruit, recruit, recruit, throw them up against the wall like mud and see who sticks?

I am so tired of all the things that people are taught that only create frustration and ultimately cause people to quit.

I spent so many years barking up the wrong tree and wondering why I was such a failure.

While I do believe in talking to a lot of people about my business and I do, I don’t chase people anymore that aren’t right for my business.

What would you rather have a thousand person team that doesn’t do much and you spend hours a day babysitting and trying to convince them to stay and do something, while constantly having to push people into your business to replace the constant stream of people who are leaving…

OR…

A hundred person team of reps who are reliable, who work their business, support you and are a great foundation to build the business you want and they consistently bring you in an income.

So when you are recruiting and someone is not interested let it go and move onto the next person.

If someone is sort of interested then do the proper follow up to determine if they are a good fit.

If someone really wants to join, then get them started right by investing in their training.

Don’t be desperate. There are lots of people interested in being entrepreneurs and building a business and you job is prospect enough people consistently to find the right ones for your business.

In the beginning it can be hard as you are doing a lot of work and not seeing as many results as you want, but as your business grows and momentum starts to kick in you will be so glad that you paid the price and barked up the right tree.

You may be thinking to yourself at this moment, “That’s great if you already know how to recruit?”

Or you may be thinking, “I have been taught the wrong way to recruit and I really need to learn the right way.”

Or maybe you already know how to recruit, but you haven’t figured out a duplicable system to be able to teach your team members how to recruit so that you can move levels.

If you are in any of these situations then you need to check out my newest training program MLM Success 101, ten videos that are going to show you everything you need to be able to go out and recruit someone within the next week.

Just imagine what it would be like to be out and about, doing your daily thing and by the end of the day you have one person interested in your business and a couple of new customers.

How would it feel to be able to walk up to someone you think might be really good for your business and you know what to say to get then to take a look at your presentation?

Would your business grow?

And what if it is simple enough that you can learn it quickly, start using it and be able to teach it to your team members at the same time?

Would that make a difference in how much money you are bringing in each month?

So make sure that you check out MLM Success 101 I have it priced at $19.95 right now, but I am not sure how long it will stay that way.

I have priced it in such a way that everyone can afford it and start seeing results.

I created this blog post back in 2012 and as I was going through and cleaning up my blog post folder I started reading this and realized it is still relevant for today. So enjoy

I had a wonderful interview yesterday with Doug Firebaugh for the Home Business Radio Network and we talked about what tips would I give someone to help them succeed in this business and after the interview my first thought was that I wanted to share them with you as well. So here they are.

1. Let Go Of The Past

The past with all of its shame, disappointments, failures, and negative words that were spoken over you can only hold you back if you let it. You can change those thought patterns, you can choose to be successful even though everyone told you that you were a loser. You can take action and become a successful person. You are not a victim, you are a VICTOR. If you would like a really great, radical, in your face book on prosperity thinking than check out Prosperity Mind by Randy Gage. Make the choice today.

2. Be Careful Who You Share Your Entrepreneurial Dreams With
Your dream is very precious to you and should never be shared unless you know that person will support and encourage you. You have been given a special gift and don’t let some naysayer crush you because they have poverty thinking. Why expose yourself to such negativity. Surround yourself with people who think the same way you do, that will lift you up, encourage you and help keep you on the right track.

3. Educate Yourself
Jim Rohn use to say, “Work harder on yourself then you do your job.” The reason he said that is to become a person who can handle success you must change. There are things that you need to let go of and things that you need to take in. Your thoughts, words and actions must change. Take time each day to learn more about yourself, and to learn new skills that will help you become more proficient in your business. The biggest investment that you can make is in yourself.

4. Find Out What Works For You
There are many systems out there for learning how to recruit and sell. You need to find the one that works best with who you are and your personality. While there are some things that are the foundations of our business, how you do them is unique to you. Find yourself a teacher (there are many good ones online) or upline/mentor that can help you find your own style that helps you recruit the most people and sell the most product. That leads us to…..

5. You Can’t Do It Alone
You need someone that you can hold yourself accountable too. Someone who cares enough to be honest with you in love. Someone who will tell you when you are getting off track without criticizing you. Someone who is positive and can encourage you when you need it, but also kick your butt when you need it. Someone who believes in you and will invest in you.

6. Self Discipline, Hard Work and Being Consistently Consistent
If you are like me then those words do not give you the warm fuzzies. At one point in my life I probably would have consider them the enemy. I know now that they are they best friends that you can have, because they are the ones that are going to bring you to success. It is not one huge action that brings you to success. It is all the small, mundane actions done consistently over a period of time that will get you there. After a while they start to pile up and create momentum in your business, but first you have to pay the cost.

7. Focus On The Positive
You are going to hit obstacles, speed bumps and disappointments along the way. Solve the problem by choosing to focus on the solution, not the problem. Also this is a journey. Learn to enjoy each stage that you are in and be thankful.

8. Use Your Time Wisely
There are activities that will keep you busy but produce no results. Focus your time on the things that really matter like recruiting, developing your teams and increasing your sales. If you aren’t seeing results then drop that activity and focus on what you know works.

9. Don’t Quit
If you quit you will never succeed!!!!!! Success is like an endurance race and the ones that win are those who cross the finish line. It doesn’t matter what spot you cross just as long as you make it.

10. Believe in Yourself
As much as I can tell you that I believe in you (and I do) if you don’t believe in yourself it won’t matter what I say. This is something that only you can decide deep down inside of yourself. It is something that you fight to hold onto with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength. It will be tested, people will come against it, but ultimately it is your choice.

Choose to believe in yourself. Fight those inner demons that say you aren’t good enough. In fact, do more than that. Kick them to the curb and tell them to never come back. You are worthy and you can do this. That’s what you need to keep telling yourself. I try not to repeat myself, but this is worth repeating. I BELIEVE IN YOU. I know that you can succeed. You were uniquely created with special gifts and talents to succeed. The only one stopping you is YOU.

Make yourself successful today, start the journey that will lead you to heart’s desires and bring you joy.

To Your Success,
Love Ya,
Kim Thompson-Pinder
