I walked into the kitchen and I panicked as I saw a ton of suds coming out of the dishwasher and onto the floor.

Now any reasonable person when they didn’t know what to do would call for help, but me being me just had to do something fast.

Can you guess what I did?

Yep, I opened up the dishwasher door without shutting it off first. Yikes!

So picture this, a kitchen with three to four feet of suds on the floor and still more is coming out and then I really panicked!

But let me take you back to the beginning of the story.

I was 9 years old and my Dad had called form work to make sure that I had run the dishwasher before he got home from work and the good daughter (most of the time) that I was, went to do it.

It was at that point that I realized that there was no dishwasher soap and instead of asking a neighbour for some (we lived in a big apartment building) I just assumed (always a bad thing) that liquid dish soap would work just as well and now I had this humungous mess that I had no clue how to clean up.

I was so stressed. My Dad was going to be mad when he got home and saw the mess and I was embarrassed because I had let it happen in the first place that I didn’t think to go and ask for help.

Have you ever been in that situation in your business. Embarrassed, because your business is not going the way that you want, but you don’t want to let people know because aren’t MLM businesses supposed to build themselves with very little effort?

You watch all these other people do it and you struggle to figure out how they are doing it…

OR…

Maybe you were like me in my first 12 years of my MLM business and I asked everyone for help. I desperately wanted to learn how to build a business, how to get lots of customers and recruits, but the most I got was, “Talk to people.”

As if that would help me build my business.
Thankfully all that changed for me 8 years ago when I got a mentor that would show me what I needed to know to recruit like crazy and get customers.

And now I want to do the same for you. That’s why I created the Set Your Business On Fire Mentorship Program.

At least 2 extensive training webinars a month on everything you need to know to build your business the right way and these will be very interactive, where you get to have your questions answered.

I will also be doing Expert Webinars. I am going to be doing webinars with some of the best in this industry and you will be able to interact with them.

Just imagine being able to ask questions of your favourite guru. Just wait to see who I get to be on these webinar’s.

Want instant answers and support in your business? You will be able to get it through our private Facebook group, where you will also get additional training.

What about being able to talk to me personally about anything you want concerning your business?

You will be able to. You will get a 30 minute session with me every two months.

Most of you know that I write books for Amazon and I will be writing more this year. How would you like to have FREE preview copies of my book and a chance to have your name in lights in the book?

You will when you join the program. Also you get a big discount on any future products that I create.

Now I bet that you are wondering the price. Well, I have made it so that anyone can afford it. It was going to be $67 a month and it probably will be that at some point, so I settled at $47, still a really good price, but I wanted to do something more as a thank you for being such a great customer so I came up with two things.

The price for THIS WEEK ONLY will be $37 a month OR you can pay a one time fee of $149 and have lifetime access to the program.

So there is no reason why you can’t finally build the business that you want. PLUS I have some great bonuses for you worth $500.

You will get my MLM Success 101 which teaches you what you need to know to go out and get recruits and customers THIS WEEK. I will be selling it soon for $47 but it is your for free.

You also get five great ebooks on topics that aren’t usually covered in business but are so vitally important like killing procrastination in your life and…

You also get a workshop including worksheets on what might be holding you back in business and what to do about it.

Now is the time to get the help you need to build the business you want for yourself and your family. Don’t miss out. This special pricing is only available until 11:59 this Friday and then it is gone. Click here to join.

To Your Success,
Kim Thompson-Pinder

P.S. Yes, I did get it cleaned up before my Dad got home and he didn’t know about it, until the landlord cam by that night to tell us that there had been water leaking into the apartment below.
My Dad gave me that frustrated look he would get when I did really silly things and asked me what happened.
Then I really panicked and started crying and talking a million miles a minute explaining what had happened and how panicked I felt and by the time I was done both the landlord and my Dad felt so sorry for me that they both just told me to never do that again, that liquid soap wasn’t for dishwashers and I could breathe a sigh of relief and go back to my favourite book I was reading.

So in part 1 of this series we looked at the first 8 reasons why people give up including allowing themselves to be beaten down, feeling that the world owes them something, dwelling on mistakes, they give up when they fail, they expect results too fast, they focus on the wrong things and because of that they are overwhelmed an then last but not least they fear what they do not know.

Here is one thing I have learned on my journey to success, at times it will seem like everything is coming against you to stop you from achieving it. That is when the temptation to quit is the greatest and that is when you have to dig in your heels and stand and say to yourself, “I am not going to quit no matter what. I will do this,” and you find a way. There is always a way.

So let’s look at the next 8 reasons. As I was just writing this, a thought came to me and it was, “No wonder so many people quit, there are so many things trying to get you to quit. It seems like there are more reasons to quit then to get the success that you want.” Make the decision right now that you are not going to let these things take you out and rob you of the success that can be yours.

Reason #9 You Give Up Your Power

Basically, that is allowing other people to dictate your future. You are the only one who can determine your future and you should never let anyone else’s negative words or actions have power in your life to take from you.

You also can’t based you future on other people’s opinions of you. If you struggle with this then I want to think of it this way. Imagine a bubble around yourself and not just any bubble, this is a special bubble because it keeps out any harmful, negative words.

When someone says something that is trying kill, steal or rob your future it just bounces off and it can’t get inside of you.

The truth is, you have that bubble, you have the choice to let words inside of you and affect you. You make the choice to let them harm you and you make the choice to believe them.

You can also choose to not let them in and harm you. Here is how you do it. When the words are said the first thing you say to yourself is, “That’s not true, I am not……, and I don’t care what they say, I am going to accomplish this,” and then you choose to forgive them.

The wonderful thing about forgiveness is that it frees you from the effects of the other person’s actions so that you can continue to move forward unhindered by them.

Forgiveness is not about the other person, forgiveness is about you being from their grasp, and there is nothing like it.

Reason #10 You Are Stuck In The Past

The best thing I can say about that is to let it all go. If you spend all your time focusing on the past you will never move forward. It is done and there is nothing you can do to change it. What you can change is your present and your future, so focus on that instead.

You are not your past, no matter what happened, so leave it there and become the person you want to be in the future starting today.

Reason #11 You Resist Change

On your journey to success there will be things about yourself that stay the same and they are good things, but there are things that you are going to have to change. There are skills you are going to have to learn, there are thinking patterns you are going to have to give up, there may be people that you have to stop hanging around with because they are dragging you down and you will probably have to take more action then you have ever done in your whole entire life. One definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results. So if you are not getting the results that you want then you are going to have to change to get to where you want to be.

Reason # 12 Your Desire For Success Is Less Than Your Fear Of Failure.

Here is one thing you might as well accept and accept it quickly. You are going to fail at times on your road to success. Success is not this straight upward climbing road that never has any twist or turns in it. In fact the road to success is usually here, there and everywhere and you usually feel like your are moving backwards when you are actually moving forwards. I have learned as much from my failures as I have from my successes.

Reason #13 Never Dream About What Is Possible

To reach success you have to have faith that you are going to get there even when you can’t see it with your human eyes and day dreaming about your future is a great way to build your faith and remind yourself what you are working towards.

Reason # 14 You Think That You Are The Only One Struggling

It is hard to achieve success when you think that you are the only one who is having a hard time. You look at all those successful people and how easy they have it now and you mistakenly believe that because you are not there that maybe you are not worthy or that is just isn’t for you.

The truth is you are seeing the end result of all the struggles that they went through and overcame. They had to struggle just like you might be doing right now. They only difference between you and them is that they are further down the road then you. That’s all.

Reason #15 Feel That They Have Something To Lose

There is a really strange fear out there called fear of success and that is where you actually afraid that success will change things so much that you won’t be able to accept it and that people won’t like you anymore.

Yes, success does change some things, but only the things you let it change and you don’t have to change your moral compass just because you have money. Money just allows the really good thing in you to be expressed even more.

Reason #16 You Spend Most Of You Time In A Pity Party

Now before you get all upset, we all go through times when we feel sorry for ourselves, the big thing is how long and what you do with it. If you are wallowing in self pity and always blaming everyone else for your lack of success then you will never succeed. On the other hand if you recognize it quickly, shake it off and start moving towards your goal again, then you w ill succeed.

You are responsible for your own success and you need to take charge of your emotions and tell them how to feel, not the other way around.

So I hope that that this series has helped you recognize some things in yourself so that when they happen you can look at them and say, “I know you, you are trying to steal my future and I am not going to let you. Go Away!”

Everyone is tempted at time to quit, but the truly successful have their eyes set in the goal and are not going to let anything stop them, including themselves.

I came across a great infographic the other day and I really couldn’t get it out of my mind. Have you ever had that happen? It got me thinking about all the times I wanted to quit (but I didn’t thank God) and why.
So I thought that I would adapt it and share it with you. If you have been feeling like quitting in business then you need to read this and be encouraged.
1. You Have Allowed Your Belief In Yourself To Be Beaten Down.
And this can come from 3 places, yourself, others and this world’s system. We are all very hard on ourselves aren’t we? I truly believe that most of what beats us down comes from within and that is the greatest battle. How do you overcome it? By recognizing defeating thought patterns and learning to change them. A great way to do that is by reading encouraging confessions out lout to yourself everyday until you start to believe them.
Now others. The great thing is that we have control over that too. We choose who we hang around with and we choose what words others speak that we will let in and have an effect. Yes, you heard me right. You don’t have to let what others say about you affect you. When someone tries to put me down, inside of myself I say, “You are not speaking the truth and I don’t have to accept it. You don’t really know me and say what you want, I don’t have to accept it.” And I don’t. For those words that I do accept I choose to forgive the person and let it go. Here is the great thing about forgiveness, the one that it frees is you.
This world system is designed to keep you broke and unsatisfied and I choose to live above it. I don’t have to become what everyone thinks I should become. I can become more.
2. Feel The World Owes Them Something
If you feel this way, then you need to do a very quick mindset change, because it isn’t going to happen. If you want to be a success then you need to take responsibility for your own actions. Nobody is going to give it to you. You have to work for it. Don’t have a victim mentality, have a victor mentality that chooses to move forward no matter what other people say or do.
3. Dwells On Mistakes
YOU ARE NOT PERFECT. There I said it, now get over it. You are going to make mistakes, everyone who is successful has. The have gone down wrong roads and have had to turn back and start over. Let go of your mistakes. Don’t keep thinking about them. If you need to tell them to shut up and kick them to the curve. If you define yourself by your mistakes then you will never succeed. Always learn from your mistakes, but once you have, MOVE ON towards success.
4. When You Fail You Feel Like That Is The End.
If Thomas Edison gave up the over a thousand times it took to create the light bulb we wouldn’t have the modern society we do today. Failure is not an indication to quit. Failure is an indication that you need to grow as person to be able to succeed. So do you need more skill? Then get it? Do you need self development? Then get it.
Do what you need to do to succeed and move forward.
5. Expect Fast Results
Businesses take time to grow and develop and reach the sweet point when momentum kicks in and really moves it forward. To get there you have to pay the price of time and effort first. Don’t give up just because it is taking longer than you thought.
6. Focus On The Wrong Thing
Are you focusing on what you can’t do instead of what you can do? When you focus on your weaknesses you become weaker. When you focus your time and energy on what you can do, you will start to move forward and become stronger. Overtime, you will have less weaknesses.
7. Fear What You Do Not Know
We have no control over the future and what will happen, what we do have control over is RIGHT NOW. So instead of worrying about what might happen, do what you can do now to ensure that your future is great. If you don’t take action now your future will reflect that.
8. Overwhelmed?
Are there so many things that you want to do and so many actions that you need to take to get there that you give up before you even start? The best thing you can do is to choose one thing and then take those first actions towards succeeding in it. It is better to accomplish one thing then to have all the grandiose plans and never accomplish anything.

So there go the first 8 things that you need to overcome so that you do not quit in your business. In the next blog post we will examine the other 8.

You’ve spent time to create this wonderful Facebook page, you’ve got some pretty decent content and there are people who have liked you. And then what?
NOTHING
Nobody is engaging your page and you are wondering if anyone is even seeing what you are posting? And the answer is probably not.
Facebook has a formula called Edgerank for figuring out how much of what you post gets seen by the people who have liked you.
Surprised
I was when I first heard about it. I just figured that everybody got everything I posted, but that is not the case. Edgerank is determined by 3 factors, Affinity, Weight, and Time Decay. Affinity is how connected the person is who has liked your page. So have they liked any of your posts, have they commented, tagged or shared a post before. Weight is determined by the type of post you make. Text only, questions, video or photo. Time Decay is just how it sounds. How long has that post been there.
So how do you check your Edgerank? There is a free tool at www.edgerankchecker.com where you can get a basic ranking on your page. Any score over 20 is considered excellent. It works best when you have at least 100 likes on your page. Under that the score won’t be as accurate.
It doesn’t matter if you score is 0 or 100 everyone needs to increase their Edgerank. In fact it is vital to your business that you do. Interaction is the Key. Social media is about relationships, and out of those interactions that you have comes business. So no relationship, no business.
So what are some ways to increase your interaction and your Edgerank?
1. Post once to twice a day and make your post interesting. Something that your fans will benefit from.
2. If someone leaves you a comment, respond back. Remember it is all about relationship, relationship, relationship.
3. 90% of your posts should include a photo. Photo’s automatically get viewed by more people. What get the most views are videos so you need to include them too.
4. Change your cover image regularly. Get creative. Make then stunning, but remember to follow Facebook’s rules or you could get your page banned.
5. Ask questions. Have call to actions. Ask then to respond to what you have posted.
6. Hold contests. There are lots of apps out there that you can use to hold contests on Facebook.
7. Every once in a while give your fans a chance to shine on your page by highlighting them and what they do.
So there you go. 7 ways to make your Facebook page come alive and interactive. Would love to hear what you think about this. Just click the little comment box beside the title.

To your success,

Here is what most MLMer’s are notorious for. They work really hard in the fall and Christmas season. They are so exhausted by Christmas time that they take January and February off and do almost nothing. By March they are starting to get back into it again and by May are starting to see some results. Then June hits and ‘Oh well’ it’s summer and I have too many other things I want to do like going to the beach and vacation and then nothing gets done. By the end of the summer they need money because their business has dropped off and they start the cycle all over again.
Wouldn’t be great if you just continually grew your business over the whole year and then just take several wonderful vacations throughout the year?
There is also the misconception that no one joins a MLM company in the summer so why bother even trying. If that were true then most companies would go out of business. Summer can be a slower time (because almost no one is recruiting), but that doesn’t mean that it is impossible to recruit someone. I do some of my best recruiting in the summer because people are more relaxed and less rushed.
Here is another thing to think about. Loss of momentum. If you truly want to build a business that is going to support you financially then you need to create momentum so that you move up levels. Stopping and starting your business over and over again causes you to…
1. Never get to the point where you hit momentum and make real money.
2. Every time you do it you actually get farther behind and it takes longer to just get to the point where you were when you stopped.
So what can you do? I know that you want to enjoy your summer. Who doesn’t? But did you realize that you can easily incorporate your business into your summer activities and that in many ways it is easier because you are around so many people?
When you got to the parks and beaches and stores, just make a point of talking to a couple of people about your business. That’s it. If you do you will have recruits throughout the whole summer and you will start off your fall way ahead.
I am a numbers person and love to see the results of things numerically. So think about this.
Say in June, July and August you talk to 2 people a day and recruit 6 people over the summer and let’s say that you earn $20/month from each person. Between September and December you will earn almost $500 from those six people alone. Wouldn’t an extra $500 at Christmas time be nice and that is only if those six people don’t recruit anyone. What if 3 of them just recruited 1 person? That is now 9 people and $700 extra dollars in your pocket by December.
You don’t have to make it difficult, you just have to be consistent. Take the opportunities that come along and just TALK TO PEOPLE and see the results. You will be glad you did.
“Kim, that’s great but I don’t know what to say to people.” I understand. I was the same way for a very long time.
Well I have good news for you. I am working on a project and it will be released in the next couple of weeks that is going to teach you step by step how to recruit people including what to say. So watch out for it.

To a spring and summer filled with consistency, momentum, results and success,
Kim Thompson-Pinder

Just like we all have different personalities, different likes, different tastes in food, we also recruit best using different methods and the sooner you find the one that you are best at the better.
I love this quote by Albert Einstein.
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
Many times were are taught to recruit and we feel stupid because we just can’t seem to recruit in the way that the person teaching us is doing it and if that is you then you really need to read the rest of this blog post and be set free.
ANY AVERAGE PERSON CAN LEARN TO RECRUIT! So the first thing you need to do is to get that into your head that you can recruit people.
You don’t have to have magical powers, be naturally gifted or even popular.
You don’t have to be male or female, good looking or the one that everyone looks up to.
All you need to be is courageous, teachable and never give up and you will succeed. Why?
Because recruiting is a skill, not a natural talent and any skill can be learned over time with enough effort.
Now it is time to help you figure which type of recruiting is best for you.
Now the four main categories are:
Local
Offline
Social Media
Online
Let’s look at each one is a little more detail.
Local
These are activities that you do in and around your local community to build your team and is a very personal way of recruiting because the whole process starts with you talking to someone.
This is actually one of the easiest and best ways to recruit because it takes the least amount of skill and the least amount of time and money to learn how to do.
In fact with the right script and knowing where to go you can recruit your next person within a couple of days.
The great thing is that there are so many ways to recruit locally. You can do events, shows, home parties, job fairs or it can be as simple as going to parks, talking to people you come across everyday or even sitting on your lawn and talking to people as they pass by.
If you want to learn how recruit you next person locally in the next few days then check out my Recruit Your Way To Success In your Local Market https://kimthompsonpinder.com/recruit-your-way-to-success/
I have decided to keep it on sale a little longer at the $19.95 price tag (regularly $97) because the new course that is going to replace it is not quite done yet. So take advantage of this because the new training program will be much smaller and once I release it this one will be gong into the vault forever.
Offline
Offline methods are basically ways of advertising your business that include things like classified ads, radio, television ads and magazine ads. Using bulletin boards and other such things to let people know about your business and getting them to contact you.
Here is the downside to this method. It can cost you a lot of money to learn how to do it effectively.
Writing an ad that converts enough people to not only pay for the ad but also give you a profit is a skill that takes time and patience and money while you learn.
It can also be very exciting and addictive to see the words that you have written bring results.
It requires you to be able over a period of time test ads and ultimately come out with the winner that will build your business the fastest but…
It is a great way to recruit a lot of people once you have mastered it because it takes very little time and brings in great results.
Here is the main thing…
Count the cost before using this method and make sure that you prepared to put money out with possibly few results in the beginning.
Social Media
If you love people and love connecting and developing relationships, then social media is probably the best method for you because that is what Social Media is all about.
Now social media recruiting is not about posting everywhere, “Buy my stuff, join my team,” and even though you see it everywhere if you check most of those posts you will see no response and no engagement.
The better route is to connect with a whole bunch of people, provide value, position yourself as a leader in the know and then when the time is right introduce people to your business via private messaging and then if they are interested take off social media to a phone call or Skype chat.
Most people have this very unrealistic expectation that you can post something on Social Media and hundreds of people are going to click on the link and join their team without any effort on their part.
Like any other form of recruiting, there are skills that you need to learn to be able to recruit on Social Media.
Here is one of the big plus sides of Social Media, it doesn’t cost you anything to practice but time and you never run out of people to talk to.
Online
This is the lost difficult to learn and will cost you the most money and time with potentially no results in the beginning.
You will have to be very tech savvy and you will have a huge learning curve.
When I started on this journey I thought that my head was going to spin off of my shoulder with the amount of knowledge I had to learn in a such a small space of time.
Is it worth it?
Yes
The wonderful thing about online is that once you have it set up, you can automate it 90% of it and then just contact the leads to qualify them and have them join your team.
You will brand yourself as a leader through the use of your website and autoresponder (and if you don’t know what that is, don’t feel bad. I didn’t either when I first got started. I had to ask. Your autoresponder is your email system.) and then you will have to learn all the different ways to drive traffic so that a percentage of them will want to join your team.
So how do you know which one to choose?
When you read this post which one jumped out at you? Which one made you excited?
Still not sure?
If you really can’t a decision then start with local prospecting, even if ultimately you move on to others methods, the skills you learn using this method will help you recruit better using the other methods.

To Your Success,
Kim Thompson-Pinder
